Robert White wins DC Democratic primary for House delegate seat

Robert White won the Democratic primary for Washington, D.C.’s nonvoting delegate to the House, putting the at-large City Council member on course to succeed Eleanor Holmes Norton after her retirement. Decision Desk HQ projected White as the winner in the race for the city’s only representative in Congress. The office can join House debates but cannot cast votes on the floor. White previously worked as a legislative aide and counsel to Holmes Norton and is positioned to win the general election in a city where Democrats make up roughly three-quarters of registered voters, according to Board of Elections data. He would become only the third person to hold the post since the modern delegate office was established in 1970.
