RI-China revives cooperation in energy, minerals, maritime, AI
The two sides also discussed a 2027-2031 action plan and opened new mechanisms in quarantine and artificial intelligence.
Indonesia and China agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in energy, minerals, maritime trade, quarantine and artificial intelligence during the first Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue at the Indonesian Foreign Ministry in Jakarta on Friday (21/8). The meeting was led by Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who was accompanied by Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun. According to Sugiono, the two countries also discussed a 2027-2031 action plan as a follow-up to the 2022-2026 cooperation plan. In addition to reviving existing strategic mechanisms, Jakarta and Beijing agreed to explore new forums for quarantine and AI. The forum is part of efforts to strengthen the Indonesia-China comprehensive strategic partnership.
