Purbaya Rejects Rp16,25 Juta Monthly Pay Claim for Kopdes Managers
The final pay scale is still being negotiated and may track provincial minimum wages, even as the APBN is set to cover the first two years.
Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa rejected social media reports claiming managers of Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih would receive Rp16,25 juta per month. He said the figure was too high and that the government has not set a final amount. In a media briefing in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/8/2026), Purbaya said any proposal that high would not be approved. He said the compensation scheme is still under discussion and may be adjusted to provincial minimum wages, although he has not received the final figure. The government had earlier prepared to fund managers' salaries from the APBN for the first two years of operations. As of 5 August 2026, Simkopdes recorded 83.382 KDKMP already formed, with 19.648 of them having completed operational facilities.
