PT Timah considers share buyback, with size and timing unset

TINS is still weighing capital needs, finances and expansion funding before deciding whether to proceed.

PT Timah (Persero) Tbk is considering a share buyback as one of its corporate strategy options, but the amount of funds, target price and execution schedule have not been set. Corporate Secretary Ruddy Nursalam said the move is still at an early stage because the company is assessing operational needs, capital adequacy, financial conditions and business development plans. At the same time, PT Timah said its main focus remains strengthening business fundamentals through improving national tin governance, optimizing production, expanding markets and improving financial efficiency. The company's performance is also affected by global tin prices and supply-demand dynamics. The company said further developments on the buyback will be disclosed in line with capital market information disclosure rules.
