Man in Cakung Named Suspect in Rape of 12-Year-Old
Police suspect the sexual abuse began in 2025 at a rented house and boarding room; the maximum penalty is 12 years.
East Jakarta Metro Police have named SR a suspect in the alleged rape of a 12-year-old child in Cakung, East Jakarta. Police said SR has been arrested and is being questioned by investigators from Sat PPA. The case came to light after the victim's mother returned home and received an explanation from the neighborhood chief, RT, and a witness that residents had caught the victim inside SR's rented house. The victim was found naked in a bathroom, while SR tried to escape by breaking through the roof of the house before being blocked by residents. In preliminary questioning, police suspect the abuse took place since 2025 at two locations, a rented house and a boarding room. Investigators have seized the visum et repertum results from RS Polri as well as the victim's and suspect's clothing.
