President’s Cup 2026 opens in Bandung, prize rises to Rp6 billion
About 23,000 attended the opening at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, where local MSMEs around the venue drew attention.
The 2026 President’s Cup opened at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Kabupaten Bandung, West Java, on Saturday (25/7), with the winner’s prize increasing from Rp5.5 billion to Rp6 billion. The opening was marked by a ceremonial kick by Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian together with Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait, PSSI chairman Erick Thohir, Presidential Staff Office chief Dudung Abdurachman, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi, and Persib manager Umuh Muchtar. Tito said the tournament could provide entertainment while also driving the local economy, especially MSMEs around the stadium. He also hoped the event would serve as a place to develop talent and identify players to strengthen Indonesia’s national team.
