Pramono denies Jakarta parking rates will rise to Rp60.000 an hour
The Rp60.000 figure came from a zoned-rate proposal in the DPRD; SCBD, Menteng and PIK could face higher charges.
DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung denied reports that car parking rates in Jakarta had been set to rise to Rp60.000 an hour. He said the figure did not come from the DKI Jakarta provincial government and that as of Monday (24/8) there had been no formal decision on the size of any new tariff. According to Pramono, discussions on adjusting parking rates are still under way and the government will consider a level deemed reasonable. The Rp60.000 figure emerged from a proposed zoned parking-rate change discussed in the DPRD DKI Jakarta. Parking special committee chairman Ahmad Lukman Jupiter said high-value commercial areas such as SCBD, Menteng, Senopati, Kemang, Pantai Indah Kapuk, Gunawarman and Pondok Indah could be charged more, while outlying areas would be lower.
