Pramono invites ministers, police chief to ride Transjakarta
Jakarta aims to lift public transport use from 28 percent to above 30 percent as it expands Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek routes.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung invited ministers in the Merah Putih Cabinet and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to try Jakarta's public transportation, especially Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek, at an event at City Hall on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Pramono said Jakarta's transport connectivity has reached about 93 percent and the system ranks 17th globally. Even so, regular use of public transportation is still only about 28 percent. The Jakarta provincial government is aiming to push that figure above 30 percent. He also highlighted the Rp 3,500 fare for Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek and 14 Transjabodetabek routes already serving Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi.
