Prabowo urges distinction between criticism and slander at PKB event
At the JCC Senayan, the president also warned of campaigns he said were aimed at undermining public confidence in Indonesia.
President Prabowo Subianto urged the public to distinguish criticism from slander and insults in a speech at PKB’s 28th anniversary event at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, on Thursday (23/7). He said criticism remains important in a democracy because it can correct the course of government, as long as it is delivered objectively and constructively. According to Prabowo, the government will not waver in the face of criticism or attacks as long as it stays on the right path and puts the people’s interests first. In the same speech, he also referred to what he called a major campaign to weaken public confidence, including claims that Indonesia will collapse. Prabowo then called on the public to maintain optimism, support national development and avoid spreading false information.
