President Prabowo Subianto met with Youth and Sports Minister and PSSI chairman Erick Thohir and men’s national team coach John Herdman in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Friday, June 19, 2026. State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said the meeting discussed future plans in sports, especially efforts to make Indonesian football more prepared if it wants to qualify for the World Cup. In addition to the 2030 target, the talks also touched on preparations for events such as the FIFA Series. Upon arrival, Herdman said players need to know they have the support of the country’s leadership. Prasetyo also said Prabowo worked from Hambalang because the work from home policy for ASN on Friday had not been revoked.
