Prabowo scheduled to open the 35th NU congress in Jombang
PBNU expects heavier traffic from participants and NU members, and is preparing rerouting around the congress venue.
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to open the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama congress on August 27, 2026, in Jombang regency, East Java. PBNU Secretary-General Saifullah Yusuf said the president’s presence is expected to increase the movement of participants and NU members from various regions, so the committee is anticipating traffic diversions around the pesantren area and the event site. The 35th NU congress will be held August 27-31 at Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas. Ahead of the main forum, PBNU will also hold the Bahtsul Masail Pra Muktamar on August 8-9, 2026, at Pondok Pesantren Cendekia Amanah in Depok to finalize materials on contemporary religious issues to be brought to the congress.
