Prabowo calls for expansion of Sekolah Rakyat in Bali
SRMP 17 Tabanan is already serving about 400 students, far above its real capacity of 270 children.
President Prabowo Subianto ordered more Sekolah Rakyat facilities in Bali after SRMP 17 Tabanan no longer had room for all applicants. During a visit to the school on Sunday, Prabowo instructed Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and the relevant ministries to find land and use underutilized state assets for classrooms. Operational data presented at the site showed the school has reached about 400 students, while its actual capacity is only 270 children. Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said expansion of Sekolah Rakyat in Bali is being directed toward a one regency or city, one school model, with student coverage depending on land assets provided by local governments.
