Prabowo leads wildfire meeting, focuses firefighting on 2 provinces

President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting on forest and land fires at the Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on Monday, focusing on the government’s priority steps. The meeting was attended by, among others, Menko Polkam Dudung Abdurachman, military chief Agus Subiyanto, national police chief Suyudi Ario Seto, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and other officials both in person and online. According to reports presented at the meeting, attention is now centered on Kalimantan Tengah and Sumatra Selatan. The Sekretariat Kabinet said the President called for stronger response efforts and the deployment of all resources to speed up firefighting and prevent the fires from spreading.
