Polri Detains 3 Suspects in Prabowo Surveillance Case
Yusril Ihza Mahendra says the suspect identified as LSP is an active police general, and Polri is not pursuing treason charges.
Polri has detained three suspects in the case of illegal surveillance involving President Prabowo Subianto. Bareskrim Polri chief Asep Safrudin at Polri headquarters on Tuesday (3/11) said the three are identified as LSP, ASN and EH. Investigators accuse them of ordering wiretaps without procedure, entering a number of phone numbers into the system without verification, then intercepting them outside law-enforcement purposes. Seized evidence includes 11 cellphones, one iPad and four flash drives. Menko Kumham Imipas Yusril Ihza Mahendra later said LSP refers to an active police general. He also said the case is being handled as illegal wiretapping and interception, not treason. The three suspects are now being held at the Polri headquarters detention center.
