Police arrest 3 suspected ATM skimmers at RS Buah Hati Pamulang
Three ATMs at the hospital were targeted; one was damaged and two were tampered with as the suspects tried to catch customers.
Police arrested three men suspected of tampering with ATM machines in the area of Rumah Sakit Buah Hati, Pamulang, Kota Tangerang Selatan, Banten, on Thursday (30/7). Tangerang Selatan Police Chief Boy Jumalolo said the suspects targeted three ATM units at a counter inside the hospital complex. One machine was damaged, while two others were tampered with. The method involved jamming part of the machine or the card slot so customer transactions would be disrupted and create an opening for crimes against ATM users. When officers moved to arrest them, the three tried to run. Police then took firm and measured action to stop their escape. Police are still examining each suspect's role and the possibility they were involved in similar incidents elsewhere.
