Police say 74 kg of gold from Febrie's Sentul home is genuine
U.S. dollar and rupiah cash seized with it were also deemed genuine, while verification of Singapore dollars awaits a lab letter.
Polda Metro Jaya said the 74 kilograms of gold seized from the house of former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah in Sentul, Kabupaten Bogor, was proven genuine after testing by Pegadaian. Police also said the cash in U.S. dollar and rupiah denominations that was seized along with it had been declared genuine. For Singapore dollars, an official result is still pending a letter from the relevant laboratory.
Amid the investigation, businessman Don Ritto claimed the gold and Rp476 miliar in cash found at the house belonged to him. His lawyer, Handika Honggowongso, said the assets had been kept at Febrie's house since 2023 as reserve operating funds for an Islamic preaching and education foundation. The case is now being handled by Kejaksaan Agung in a corruption and TPPU investigation that also implicates Febrie and Don Ritto.
