Police identify sender of bomb threat to SDN Srengseng Sawah 15
The WhatsApp message threatened bombs at 11 school locations, but a search lasting more than two hours found nothing suspicious.
Police have identified the suspected sender of a bomb threat to SDN Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, on Monday, the first day of MPLS. Jagakarsa Police Chief Nurma Dewi said the threat was sent via WhatsApp to teachers and administrative staff, claiming there were bombs at 11 points inside the school. The report was received around 07.30 WIB as students and teachers were attending a ceremony. Students and school staff were then evacuated, the MPLS activities were disbanded, and parents were asked to pick up their children. A team from Gegana, Densus 88, Inafis, and DKI Jakarta provincial officials searched the school area. After more than two hours of inspection, police had not found explosives or anything suspicious. Polda Metro Jaya and Polres Metro Jakarta Selatan also processed the scene to trace the sender and the motive behind the threat.
