Police arrest Taufik Hidayat in Majalaya after daylong manhunt
Police said the suspect moved locations every hour around Bandung Raya before being arrested Tuesday.
Polda Jawa Barat arrested Taufik Hidayat in Majalaya, Kabupaten Bandung, on Tuesday (23/6), after searching for him in a case of alleged confinement and abuse of his girlfriend, YTR, over three years. Polda Jabar Public Relations chief Kombes Hendra Rochmawan said Taufik had moved from place to place every hour but remained in the Bandung Raya area. Police did not give details of the arrest and scheduled a news conference for Wednesday afternoon. Earlier, Polda Jabar Chief Irjen Rudi Setiawan formed a special team involving the Narcotics, Cyber, Special Crimes, and General Crimes directorates and issued a wanted notice. The victim is now receiving intensive treatment at Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikin in Kota Bandung.
