Police arrest 5 in torture, abuse case of employee in Tangerang
All five were arrested in Pemalang after the victim was allegedly held and abused for hours over a resignation and client-poaching suspicions.
Polresta Tangerang arrested five suspects in the torture case and alleged sexual abuse of PG, 25, an employee of a savings and loan cooperative in Panongan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. According to Polda Banten, the suspects included EDD, 24, identified as the victim's boss, and four other employees with the initials SD, ML, AD and DD. They were arrested in Pemalang Regency, Central Java, on Friday, 7 August. The case began when PG submitted a resignation letter, saying he wanted to return to his hometown. EDD and the others then suspected the victim would start a similar business and take over customers. Police said the suspects were allegedly under the influence of alcohol when they carried out physical violence and indecent acts for several hours. They are charged under Article 262 of the Criminal Code, Article 446 of the Criminal Code and provisions related to indecent acts.
