Police arrest 2 in attempted kidnapping of 70-year-old in PIK
Both were detained last Friday, while investigators continue to examine the motive and possible additional suspects.
Police arrested two people suspected of involvement in the attempted kidnapping of GH, a 70-year-old man, in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Penjaringan police chief AKBP Agta Bhuwana Putra said both had been secured since last Friday and are being intensively questioned by the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Penjaringan Police. The incident occurred while the victim was exercising in the morning at around 06.55 WIB. CCTV footage showed the suspects following GH by car, then one man got out and tried to force the victim into the vehicle. The victim resisted, struggled and fell, then shouted for help. The attempt failed and the suspects fled. Police had earlier said the two suspected perpetrators had been identified and were still probing the motive and the possibility of others being involved.
