Bali police arrest 7 suspects in subsidized fuel hoarding case
Police seized 300 liters of diesel in Tabanan, while Pertalite was sold for Rp50 ribu-Rp100 ribu a bottle through Facebook Marketplace.
Polda Bali has named seven suspects in cases involving hoarding subsidized diesel and selling Pertalite above the official price in several parts of Bali, amid a fuel shortage that has led to long lines at gas stations. One case was uncovered by the Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Bali in Tabanan involving suspect IMS (64), who is suspected of hoarding 300 liters of subsidized diesel since early 2026 to resell through his shop. Police seized the diesel, 18 jerrycans, one Suzuki Carry ST 100 with plate DK 1216 GD, vehicle barcode DK 8187 GC, and a recommendation letter for purchasing agricultural diesel. The other six suspects are being handled by Polresta Denpasar, Polres Buleleng, Polres Badung, and Polres Gianyar. They are suspected of selling Pertalite in 1.5-liter bottles for Rp50 ribu to Rp100 ribu through Facebook Marketplace in cash-on-delivery transactions.
