Central Jakarta District Court rejects ex-BGN deputy’s pretrial bid

Lodewyk Pusung remains a suspect in the MBG graft case, and the judge did not review the arrest or seizures.

The Central Jakarta District Court rejected the pretrial motion filed by former National Nutrition Agency deputy chief Lodewyk Pusung in an alleged graft case tied to management of the Free Nutritious Meals program. Sole judge M Firman Akbar on Monday (24/8) granted the Attorney General’s Office objection and ruled that PN Jakpus had no authority to hear the petition. The ruling means the court did not examine whether Lodewyk’s suspect designation, arrest, search, seizure or detention were lawful. He had sought to have his suspect status revoked. The Attorney General’s Office named Lodewyk in an alleged markup case in BGN procurement in 2025-2026, including 21.801 electric motorcycles worth around Rp1,03 trillion that were said to have been paid to PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal even though the vendor was deemed unqualified.
