PLN Indonesia Power eyes clean energy projects in Latin America
The company is bringing management capacity for 22.1 GW of plants and is targeting solar and small hydro projects there.
PLN Indonesia Power is targeting expansion of its clean energy business into Latin America and the Caribbean to widen its international footprint. The move was presented at the 2nd Ambassadors' Dialogue on Enhancing Trade and Investment Cooperation between Indonesia and Latin America and the Caribbean, held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on 21 Mei 2026. PLN Indonesia Power CEO Bernadus Sudarmanta said the region is strategic for developing sustainable business. Business Development and Commercial Director Julita Indah said PLN Indonesia Power has end-to-end capabilities in managing power plants with a capacity of 22.1 GW. Through PLN IP Renewables, the company sees opportunities in solar projects in areas with high radiation and small-scale hydroelectric plants. Deputy Foreign Minister Arief Havas Oegroseno also urged stronger Indonesian energy investment with the region.
