PLN commissioner urges energy sovereignty in Independence Day reflection
Ali Masykur Musa said electricity is more than a commodity, calling it vital for schools, hospitals, industry, and data centers.
PT PLN (Persero) Independent Commissioner Ali Masykur Musa linked the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia to the issue of energy sovereignty. In his essay, he said independence is no longer tested by physical war, but by a country's ability to provide food, master technology, manage natural resources, build industry, protect the environment, and ensure the benefits of development are shared evenly. According to Ali, electricity is an essential part of civilization infrastructure because it supports education, hospital services, industry, transportation, communications, worship, and data centers. He also highlighted PLN's duty not only to maintain today's power supply, but to consider Indonesia's energy sources for the next 20, 30, and even 50 years.
