PKB presses PDIP to choose opposition or back Prabowo

PKB is urging PDIP to clarify its political position toward President Prabowo Subianto's administration after a dispute over Andi Widjajanto's presence at a student protest at Bundaran HI, Jakarta, on 12 Juni 2026. PKB deputy chairman Jazilul Fawaid said PDIP's stance remains "gray" because it is outside the coalition but has not clearly defined itself as a balancing force or opposition. He said the ambiguity could interfere with parties working to support the Kabinet Merah Putih program. From PDIP, Said Abdullah denied the party was involved in the student movement and asked that Andi's presence not be interpreted as an official party position. PDIP DPP chairman Deddy Yevri Sitorus then responded, asking PKB not to interfere in PDIP's political decisions, which he said had already been set through party forums.
