Pertamina Pride clears Strait of Hormuz, arrives in Cilacap on July 23

The 2 million-barrel vessel had been stalled since March; two PIS tankers have now left the Arabian Gulf and resumed operations.

The VLCC tanker Pertamina Pride, owned by PT Pertamina International Shipping, has safely passed through the Strait of Hormuz and is now sailing toward Cilacap. The 2 million-barrel crude oil vessel began moving on July 7, 2026 at 13.00 Dubai time and passed the critical area and the Strait of Hormuz at 00.15 WIB on July 8. Pertamina Pride is expected to take 15 days to complete the trip and arrive in Indonesia on July 23. The ship had been held since March. Acting Corporate Secretary PIS Vega Pita said the success followed the Gamsunoro, allowing two PIS ships that had been stranded in the Arabian Gulf region to resume operations. Pertamina Pride's cargo will be sent to Cilacap to help maintain the national energy supply.
