Pertamina Patra Niaga processes waste in Balikpapan and Madiun

In Madiun, the program is claimed to have cut 16,000 kg of organic waste and added Rp 14,6 juta to residents' income.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is running a circular economy program in Balikpapan and Madiun by processing plastic waste, household waste and digitizing waste banks. At Kilang Balikpapan, the CID Pelita Borneo Program turns sachet packaging and food wrappers into roster, paving blocks and LDPE sheets without burning. The program also processes organic waste into compost and converts used cooking oil into soap and candles. In East Java, Fuel Terminal Madiun operates Bank Sampah Pesanggrahan and the Sokrosok app for collecting and picking up inorganic waste. The waste collected is then processed through the 3R Workshop into plaques, fans, tables, key chains and plastic brooms. According to the company, the Kampung Iklim Pesanggrahan Program has reduced 16,000 kilograms of organic waste and 1.380 kilograms of inorganic waste, while cutting methane emissions by about 2.013 kilograms a year.
