Persib first to clinch ACL Two round of 16 berth this season
New: Persib swept its first four matches and became one of two East Zone teams with a perfect 12 points.
Persib Bandung became the first team to secure a place in the ACL Two round of 16 this season after sweeping its first four matches in the group stage. The Bandung club collected a perfect 12 points, a mark matched in the East Zone only by Machida Zelvia of Japan. Persib's run stands out because it comes from a country with the lowest league competition points among the 32 group-stage teams, at 18.653. Even so, Persib defeated opponents from countries with higher coefficients, including Seoul FC of South Korea, The Cong Vittel of Vietnam, and twice beat Melbourne Victory, including in Australia. Antara assesses that Persib's game trend has also improved from match to match, opening the possibility of a run at least to the quarterfinals.
