Nyi Ageng Serang Library in Jakarta reopens until 22.00

The 4,000-square-meter facility holds 55,000 books and is open every day, Monday-Sunday.

The DKI Jakarta provincial government reopened Perpustakaan Jakarta Nyi Ageng Serang in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, after operations had been halted since 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic and operational constraints. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inaugurated the library and extended service hours until 22.00 WIB. Located on the 7th and 8th floors of Gedung Nyi Ageng Serang, the library covers about 4,000 square meters and holds 55,000 books. Its facilities include reading rooms, study and work areas, a workshop room, a reading hall, private booths, discussion booths, multimedia booths, a catalog kiosk, lockers, and circulation and library guidance services. National Library head Endang Aminudin Aziz said the new space could strengthen reading culture and literacy among residents.
