Fuel Supply in North Sumatra Rises 120-125%, Medan Lines Ease
Pertamina added 35% more tank trucks and redirected supplies from Siantar, Kisaran and Lhokseumawe to speed recovery.
Fuel supply and distribution in North Sumatra have begun to improve after BPH Migas and Pertamina Patra Niaga stepped up deliveries to Medan and nearby areas. Monitoring on Friday afternoon, July 17, 2026, showed lines at most gas stations in Medan had nearly cleared, with only about two to three cars left at 17.45 WIB. To speed recovery, Pertamina added about 35% more tanker trucks and crews, redirected supply from Fuel Terminal Siantar, Kisaran and Lhokseumawe, and optimized distribution through Belawan and Labuhan Deli. BPH Migas said supply to gas stations is now up to 120-125% of normal levels, after two ships completed unloading solar and Pertalite. BPH Migas said fuel stocks in North Sumatra remain secure and the main problem is distribution, not quota.
