PAP adds 4 to top committee, keeps Lawrence Wong team in place

What's new: Jeffrey Siow and Chan Hui Yuh joined the 18-member CEC for the first time as the ruling party looks ahead to the next election.

Singapore's ruling People's Action Party added four members to its 39th Central Executive Committee on Nov. 5, bringing its top decision-making body to its full 18-member size while leaving the senior leadership lineup unchanged. Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow, labour chief Ng Chee Meng, Second Minister for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Sim Ann, and former Aljunied GRC candidate Chan Hui Yuh were co-opted into the CEC. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong remained secretary-general, with Desmond Lee as chairman, Masagos Zulkifli as vice-chairman, Chan Chun Sing as assistant secretary-general and Ong Ye Kung as treasurer. The 2026-2028 committee will steer the party as it prepares for Singapore's next general election.
