The move came after Pakistan's Supreme Court ordered authorities this week to transfer the 73-year-old within 48 hours and allow him to be examined by physicians, including his personal doctor. Khan's lawyers say his health has worsened in custody and that he has lost significant vision in his right eye, while the government has disputed claims that he needs urgent treatment. Khan has been jailed since August 2023 and says the more than 100 cases against him are politically motivated.
