Padang sends 3.6 tons of rendang, 2 tons of aid for NTT quake victims
The shipment left through Halim on a Hercules aircraft as Padang raised its rendang collection target to 5 tons.
The Padang city government, together with Gebu Minang, LKAAM Sumatera Barat, Hipermi and Baznas Kota Padang, sent another round of aid for victims of the earthquake in Nusa Tenggara Timur. On 22 August 2026, the rendang aid was dispatched from Minangkabau International Airport to Halim Perdanakusuma Airport aboard a TNI AU Hercules plane before being forwarded to the affected areas. Padang Mayor Fadly Amran said rendang had already been sent earlier on 17 August and that after this latest shipment another 500 kilograms would still be added to reach the 5 ton target. Fauzi Bahar said the amount of rendang aid collected had reached 3.6 tons. Separately, PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset, in collaboration with BNPB, distributed 2 tons of logistics in two stages on 19 and 22 August.
