Ossoff and Collins meet Tuesday in Georgia Senate debate
What's next: The 8 p.m. EDT debate puts a Likely Democratic seat in focus ahead of the general election.
Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff and Republican Rep. Mike Collins are set to debate Tuesday night in Georgia’s U.S. Senate race. The event begins at 8 p.m. EDT and will be carried by Georgia Public Broadcasting and the Atlanta Press Club. Ossoff first won the seat in a 2021 runoff against incumbent David Perdue and has recently drawn attention for attacking President Donald Trump’s policies and administration, while also brushing up against 2028 presidential speculation. Collins, a strong Trump ally, first won his U.S. House seat in 2022 and reached the general election in June after beating Derek Dooley in a GOP runoff. The Cook Political Report with Amy Walter rates the Senate race Likely Democratic.
