Ombudsman opens halal certification complaint desk through December 2026
The desk will handle complaints over SIHALAL access, P3H helpers, LPH auditors and alleged extra charges.
Ombudsman RI has opened an online complaint desk to monitor halal certificate registration and issuance services during October-December 2026. The channel is intended for members of the public and business operators who face problems, especially ahead of the October 2026 deadline for mandatory halal certification. Ombudsman RI member Maneger Nasution said complaints received include unclear information on requirements and procedures, disruptions to the SIHALAL application, difficulty accessing Proses Produk Halal (P3H) companions, and inspections by Lembaga Pemeriksa Halal (LPH) auditors. The desk also accepts reports of alleged requests for money outside the rules, delays in certificate issuance, and complaints that are not followed up. Ombudsman said the desk is a follow-up to an agreement with BPJPH to speed up resolution of service complaints.
