Ojol rider loses motorbike in Tanjung Priok, suspect arrested 2 hours later
New details: the victim was promised Rp600 ribu and two phones for an offline trip from Tambun to the port in North Jakarta.
Polres Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok arrested WS, the man who rode off with the motorbike belonging to ride-hailing driver Sutrisno, about two hours after the incident on Jalan Pelabuhan Nusantara II, North Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6). Police detained him in Pademangan and seized the victim’s motorbike, whose license plate had been removed, while the vehicle documents were said to have been thrown away. The case began when Sutrisno accepted an offline trip offer from Stasiun Tambun, Bekasi, to Muara Baru and then Tanjung Priok. According to the victim, WS promised Rp600 ribu, and even dangled two cellphones. When they arrived in front of the Kantor Kesehatan Pelabuhan, the suspect asked the victim to get off, saying he was picking up a friend, then drove away with the motorbike. Police charged WS under Article 492 and Article 486 of Law No. 1 of 2023, which carry a maximum penalty of four years in prison.
