OJK issues POJK 6/2026 regulating finfluencers
The rule requires financial services information to be presented clearly, honestly, accessibly and without misleading consumers.
Otoritas Jasa Keuangan has issued Peraturan OJK Nomor 6 Tahun 2026 on the Conduct of Information Providers in the Financial Services Sector, which for the first time regulates financial influencers, or finfluencers. The rule is aimed at ensuring information on financial products and services is delivered clearly, accurately, honestly, accessibly and without the potential to mislead. Agus Firmansyah, head of the Surveillance and Integrated Financial Services Sector Policy Department at OJK, said the regulation serves as guidance for information providers outside financial services businesses that influence consumers' decisions. OJK said the rule is needed because finfluencers are playing a larger role and can trigger losses if information circulating online is not conveyed responsibly.
