OJK urges easier access to sharia finance through digital services

OJK said sharia financial literacy stands at 43 percent, while financial inclusion remains at 13 percent.

Otoritas Jasa Keuangan is urging sharia finance players to make access easier for the public, especially through digital services, so the sector can grow faster. OJK board member Dicky Kartikoyono said access to sharia finance still lags behind conventional services, in part because physical branch networks are more limited. He therefore asked industry players to use mobile applications so services are easier to reach. Dicky delivered the remarks at the opening of Expo Keuangan dan Seminar Syariah (Eksis) 2026 at Mal Kota Kasablanka in South Jakarta on Thursday (20/8). The event runs for four days through Sunday (23/8). OJK also noted that sharia financial literacy is only 43 percent, while inclusion is 13 percent.
