NTB nature school engages 1,772 participants, plants 4,500 mangroves

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has run the Sekolah Alam Anak Pesisir program in Desa Cendi Manik, Nusa Tenggara Barat, since 2024, reaching 135 beneficiaries. The program uses nature as a learning space for coastal children, including mangrove ecosystem education, environmental care, creativity and local economic potential. So far, 1.772 participants have joined 11 coastal learning activities, with 860 visits a year to mangrove and coastal education sites. On the environmental side, the program has included planting 4.500 mangrove seedlings for coastal rehabilitation. On the economic side, the program has increased group income based on local potential by Rp24 juta a year and cut energy costs by Rp6,6 juta a year through PLTS.
