NTB Draws Gold Prizes for 215,757 On-Time Vehicle Taxpayers
The new approach shifts incentives from amnesty for delinquent payers to rewards for compliant residents, after officials cited moral hazard.
The Nusa Tenggara Barat provincial government drew gold prizes for 215,757 motor vehicle taxpayers who paid on time with no arrears or fines. The drawing was held in public at Taman Udayana in Kota Mataram on Sunday, 19 July. In total, the NTB provincial government recorded 375,742 taxpayers who paid PKB from January to 30 June 2026. NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal described the program as a shift in approach: incentives will no longer focus on amnesty for those in arrears, but on rewarding residents who comply. Acting head of Bapenda NTB Baiq Nelly Yuniarti said the scheme is expected to encourage timely tax payment. At the same event, the NTB provincial government and Baznas NTB also distributed business assistance to people with disabilities.
