Nottingham Forest push to sign Chelsea striker Liam Delap
What's next: Forest are trying to finish two late-window deals before the Sept. 1 deadline as Chelsea trim a 39-player senior squad.
Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks with Chelsea over a move for striker Liam Delap, who has been made available for transfer and is training away from Chelsea's first-team group. It is not yet clear whether the deal would be a permanent move or a loan. Delap, 23, missed Chelsea's Premier League game at Fulham on Monday and recently lost the No. 9 shirt to Joao Pedro. His possible exit comes a little more than a year after he joined from Ipswich Town for £30 million. Forest, who have already added Ousmane Diomande, Xaver Schlager and Steven Benda this summer, want more attacking depth after selling Taiwo Awoniyi to Coventry City.
