New White House press secretary takes 3 questions in debut
What's new: Katie Zacharia used the 15-minute briefing to reveal Kimberly Guilfoyle was pushed out as ambassador to Greece.
Katie Zacharia made a shaky first appearance as White House press secretary on Oct. 13, spending much of a roughly 15-minute briefing reading a prepared defense of President Donald Trump before taking questions from only three reporters. She called first on Breitbart, then Fox News and the Daily Mail, and left as other journalists shouted unanswered questions. In one newsmaking moment, Zacharia disclosed that Kimberly Guilfoyle had been asked to resign as U.S. ambassador to Greece amid a bribery scandal. Zacharia, 41, recently worked as a commentator for Fox News and Newsmax and advised Trump Media and Technology, the company behind Truth Social.
