Netanyahu Blocks Trump’s 15-Point Gaza Peace Plan
The move stalls an Israeli troop pullback from Gaza, while Hamas says it remains ready to carry out the roadmap.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country rejects the 15-point Board of Peace document pushed by U.S. President Donald Trump for Gaza’s recovery. In a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu said the Israeli military will not withdraw from the Gaza Strip before Hamas is fully disarmed, including light weapons. The stance opens an unusual public split with Washington, after the White House earlier hailed the agreement as a historic step. The plan announced on 30 July calls for Hamas disarmament, a phased Israeli withdrawal and the transfer of governance to Palestinian technocrats. Hamas, through political bureau member Bassemm Naim, said it remains committed to the roadmap and urged mediators to press Israel to comply.
