Nancy Kissinger, wife of Henry Kissinger, dies at 92 in Connecticut

What's new: She died Aug. 20 at her home in South Kent after spending decades alongside one of US diplomacy's most divisive figures.

Nancy Kissinger, the wife of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, died Aug. 20 at her home in South Kent, Connecticut, at age 92, her family said. She married Henry Kissinger in 1974 and traveled with him on diplomatic trips before the couple became fixtures at Washington receptions and New York cultural events after he left office in 1977. Politically astute and closely protective of her husband's legacy, she remained linked to the public battles over his record on Vietnam, Cambodia, Chile and Argentina. In 1982, a New Jersey judge dismissed a simple assault charge after an airport confrontation involving a political heckler.
