Morocco beat Scotland 1-0 in a Group C match at the 2026 World Cup at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, on Saturday (20/6) WIB. Ismael Saibari’s early goal in the second minute proved the difference in a match that kept Morocco atop the temporary group standings.
Scotland tried to respond, especially in the second half, but could not equalize. The Guardian reported that Steve Clarke’s side felt aggrieved after Neil El Aynaoui’s challenge on Scott McTominay, which they believed warranted a penalty, but referee Ilgiz Tantashev did not point to the spot.
The result leaves Morocco on 4 points from two matches and in a strong position to reach the round of 32. Scotland remain on 3 points and now await their next match against Brasil to keep their hopes alive. Morocco previously drew 1-1 with Brasil, while Scotland beat Haiti 1-0.
