Mojtaba Khamenei backs Hizbullah, demands Israel halt Lebanon strikes
The appeal came after Hizbullah sent a loyalty letter, as Lebanon-Israel ceasefire talks continue.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei voiced full support for Hizbullah and demanded an immediate, unconditional end to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon. He posted the statement on X on Sunday in response to a letter of loyalty from the Hizbullah secretary general and other members of the group. Mojtaba described Hizbullah as the front line of resistance against Israel’s attacks and wrote that “there is no path forward except jihad and resistance.” At the same time, Lebanon and Israel are still holding U.S.-mediated ceasefire negotiations. According to official Lebanese data cited by Antara, Israeli attacks since 2 March have killed 4.330 people and injured 12.236 others.
