Modi secures 16 deals, expands India drug supply to RI
India will also help train Indonesian doctors, back space research and provide wheat seeds for food security.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Prabowo Subianto agreed to expand access to Indian medicines, described as high-quality and affordable, for the Indonesian market. The commitment was part of 16 cooperation documents signed and announced during a bilateral meeting at Istana Merdeka in Jakarta on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. Beyond health care, the two countries included cooperation to strengthen the capacity of Indonesian doctors and health workers. The package also covers agriculture, telecommunications, defense, education, technology and space research through cooperation between the National Research and Innovation Agency and the Indian Space Research Organisation. Modi also offered wheat seed supplies and the sharing of sustainable farming practices to support Indonesia's food security.
