Missile strike damages Aramco tower in Riyadh financial district

What's new: Witnesses reported visible damage in King Abdullah Financial District after Saudi forces said they shot down two Houthi ballistic missiles.

A missile strike damaged an Aramco tower in Riyadh's King Abdullah Financial District on Nov. 8, according to multiple witnesses, marking a sharp escalation in Saudi Arabia's renewed war with Yemen's Houthis. Witnesses said several floors of the tower showed shattered glass and facade damage. Earlier that morning, coalition spokesperson Turki al-Malki posted that Saudi air defenses had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles fired toward Riyadh. Loud explosions were heard across the capital. The attack came hours after authorities moved students in Riyadh back to in-person classes after weeks of remote learning during an earlier wave of strikes.
