PPPA minister reviews circular business of PNM Mekaar client in Bandung

Ema’s operation turns waste into maggot feed, then uses the output for catfish and chicken in one integrated business chain.

Minister for Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi and Statistics Indonesia chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti reviewed the business of Ema, a PNM Mekaar client, in Bandung on Friday, July 17, 2026. Ema has built a circular economy business by using organic and inorganic waste, then raising maggot to process the waste. The output is used as feed for catfish and chickens, creating an integrated business chain from upstream to downstream. The visit also highlighted a model of empowering low-income women through financing and mentoring from PNM. Beyond access to capital, clients take part in weekly group meetings, business training and capacity building. PNM President Director Kindaris said sustained mentoring is one of the supports behind clients' business growth.
