Menteri PPPA, BPS chief inspect PNM customer's circular business in Bandung
Ema turns organic and inorganic waste into maggot, then uses it as feed for catfish and chickens in one linked business chain.
Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi and Statistics Indonesia chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti inspected the business of Ema, a PNM Mekaar customer, in Bandung on Friday, July 17, 2026. The visit highlighted a circular economic model built on the use of organic and inorganic waste. The waste is processed into maggot, then used as feed for catfish and chickens in an interconnected business ecosystem. Arifah said the model shows low-income women can raise household income while also benefiting the environment. Amalia described Ema's business as an example of a complete value chain from upstream to downstream. PNM said support is provided through financing, weekly group meetings, business training, and customer capacity building.
